CEU Credit:
1 AIA LU/HSW
Program Description:
Masonry can play a vital role in the safety and comfort of building occupants. When properly designed and detailed, high-performing masonry exterior wall enclosures can enhance the building user experience while managing basic building science principles of moisture, movement, and thermal control.
Learning Objectives:
Review various definitions of “high-performance” and associated benefits.
Understand basic building science principles of exterior wall control layers to manage moisture,
movement, and thermal usage and occupant comfort.
Explore wall assembly component material choices and impacts
wall performance/durabilty, constructability, cost, and aesthetics.
Gain practical insight into how masonry wall assemblies are constructed in the field.
